Blackburn Family Cancer Foundation raises over $10,000 for the 2026 Staten Island Lustgarten walk

STATEN ISLAND, NY—In 2021, prior to starting the Blackburn Family Cancer Foundation, survivor Ed Blackburn and his family found and participated in the Lustgarten Foundation’s Staten Island Pancreatic Cancer Walk. Over the years, Eddie’s Entourage, the family’s team name, has contributed over $35,000 to the cause.

This year was the first time Eddie’s Entourage participated as The Blackburn Family Cancer Foundation, generating $10,114 in donations for pancreatic cancer research. Through the foundation’s friends, family, and supporters, over 50 attendees braved the heavy rain and cold temperatures to participate in the 1.5 mile walk at Staten Island’s FDR Boardwalk on its north shore.

As a survivor, and guest of honor for this year’s walk, Ed shared his story with the attendees and was asked to cut the ribbon to kick-off the walk.

Following the walk, the Blackburn family welcomed Eddie’s Entourage back to their home for a catered lunch featuring a hot dog cart, delicious food from Buon Apetit Catering, drinks, and happiness to go around.

Stay tuned for more information on next year’s Lustgarten Foundation Staten Island walk and how you can join Eddie’s Entourage to help fight pancreatic cancer. Visit www.blackburncancerfoundation.com to learn more about the Blackburn Family Cancer Foundation, Ed’s story, and upcoming events.
